Unveiling the first Charter 300 Information Center
This week the city unveiled its first Annapolis Charter 300 Information Center at Hard Beans and Booksellers on Market Square. The stand provides multiple brochures and magazines about Annapolis, from bus guides to walking tour brochures, as well as copies of the city magazine, which is mailed to all city residents three times a year. As commemorative events are announced for the city wide, 2008 year long celebration of the granting of the city charter in 1708, materials will be available at these information stands. Specialized volunteer committees and regional historical and cultural organizations are focusing existing and new activities to mark 300 years of changing city governance.
Jess and two month old Sampson Pachler of Eastport, Jeanette and nine month old George Monahan of Broomfield, NJ, and Carmen and three month old Etienne Gipson plan to explore the city with the new walking tour brochures as they stroll through town this winter. |
Mayor Ellen Moyer, host and proprietor Gary Amoth of Hard Beans and Booksellers, and Chuck Weikel, executive director of Annapolis Charter 300 mark the unveiling of the first Charter 300 information stand. |
Katie and David: Katie Finnegan, of Arnold, and David Hardesty, of Millersville, check out the new brochures. |
