Annapolis Celebrated 300 Years of History in 2008
parked by the 300th anniversary of the signing of
Annapolis’ Royal Charter, Annapolis Alive! celebrated this – and every city’s – independence and truly
participatory democracy. Sound dry? Not in the nation’s
sailing capital, a vibrant, little Chesapeake city, where citizens
and visitors still live, work and play in the nation’s coziest
collection of 18th century streets and structures. Here,
history is still created daily and government is almost a
recreational sport, and we boast major arts, cultural
and historical events along with neighborhood
festivals, pub-crawls, parties, special historical tours, and more.
