~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear Fellow Annapolitan,
chuck weikelOur charter year of 2008 continues to build as the list of Annapolis Alive! events grows in number and diversity. January events are a perfect example of the exciting range of offerings that make Annapolis such great place in which to live.
Tonight the Annapolis Maritime Museum will debut its 2008 Winter Maritime Seminar Series with a discussion and photographic show of Chesapeake Sailing Craft by naval architect William Fox. The seminar begins at 7 p.m. at Maryland Hall.
This weekend the Historic Annapolis Antiques Show — an Annapolis Alive! Signature Event and local tradition — comes to town, with special emphasis on garden ornaments. The gala preview party will be held tonight and the show opens tomorrow at 11 a.m. at the Medford National Guard Armory.
Coming up later in the month — on the 22nd — is the next enVISIONing Annapolis conversation. The topic is Migrating Opportunity: Hispanic Immigration and America’s Cities. This Community Conversation for Change will feature Roberto Suro, author of Strangers Among Us: How Latino Immigration is Transforming America. It will be held at the Bates Heritage Center.
And, on the 27th, the signature event, Travel Through Three Amazing Centuries, will rock Westfield Annapolis with music by Leon Redbone and Raw Hands and with the presence of Gary Jobson and Baltimore Raven Matt Stover. Tickets are on sale now online. Read more about this exciting event below.
